I rewatched the video and you are right. It sounds like he said it's a "Palm 9". It does kind of look like a Palm. It's just a prototype of a non-touch phone.
I still think Sprint will release a Q type device with Android. |

I still think Sprint will release a Q type device with Android. big - BIG - gamble for Sprint. More power to 'em. If I'm wrong, I'll happily admit it but "Android" isn't the next "big thing" in mobile phones. Windows Mobile 7 . . . IS. |

That sounds about right but M$ might surprise ua all - They've hired away some big gun developers and their new mobile VP is really strong. My gut says by this time next year but only time will tell.

I only want Android to be a great OS because I'm sure that WM7 will not live up to the hype. Android has already shown some of its possibilities and it looks like a bright future for it. |

Windows Mobile all the way. Nothing else can be "exploited" to this point. |

Windows Mobile will be around and in wide distribution. Android may find a niche but much like Linux will never drive the mobile phone industry. More power to 'em but they ain't gonna be the big kid on the block in this century. |

For now. From what I hear of Android, every part of the OS will be customizable. Which means that it should be easier to hack. And since android is being built as an open program, a hack for 1 phone should work on another phone, unless it is hardware related. Have you looked into the Android contest Google is holding. They already have 100s of programs written for it and the phones haven't even come out. The whole thing is just Java and XML. |

There is one of those 4 or 5 franchise phone stores right near me and The guy there says he knows it is coming but not when. He wasn't sure which phone at first in the US either but he said there were a couple of "false starts" reports but he wasn't holding his breath. He knows that I'm a WM guy but he said the I could come down and play when he gets an Android phone in. I'm just so curious. I'd REALLY like to see it "in the flesh" so to speak. I'll certainly report back whenever I do. |
