YouTube and Flash working inside Opera Mobile November 29, 2008 [Pocket PC phone] | By Edward J. R.
Why wait for new Internet Explorer Mobile 6, that however http://msmobiles.com/news.php/7821.html may be available for new phones only, if you can get Flash and full YouTube already now?
ability to run a youtube and flash content inside the browser window itself.
The upcoming build (2808) of Opera Mobile will let you do exactly that!
You need to have Opera Mobile build 2808 with flash 7 activeX dll installed.
After downloading the file, unzip it and go to “opera 2808 update” folder. You will find 3 files. Use activesync’s explorer to put these files into the \windows folder. It will ask you over-write the files. Let it over-write them. Disconnect your device and conduct a soft-reset.
To learn more, and to see screenshots, visit related story about Opera Mobile with Flash. http://gadgetmix.com/index/?p=1507
Note: once that version of Opera Mobile will get fully official then all that will be needed to get it working will be official downloads from opera.com and adobe.com sites - original sites of Opera and Flash respectively...

The more I use opera the more I really like it. Since opera is the default on the Touch PRO, it will be a matter of time before there is an update. |
